My Jvc Rc838

Since Lasonic was kind enough to ask I figured Id post a very poor picture of my Jvc Rc838 taken with my cell phone, Now in no way am I an Ansel Adams as a photographer, truth be told I am closer to Gomez Addams, if not Lurch or Cousin It.



honestly I know it doesnt do my Jvc proper justice or Blu_Fuz glorious craftsmanship the look it deserves but It Sounds great and my only complaint is that here in florida the reception is nowhere near as good as I remember it was on Long Island back in the day...I quite literally could pull in any station Including Los Angeles on many nights

As I had mentioned in my earlier post, I worked nights in university and I would routinely listen to Radio MysteryTheater on either KMOX out of St Louis, or WBBM out of Chicago and it came in clear as a bell, There were many nights Id be sitting security in Tower B, which was an all girls dorm, and Id have 4 or 5 coeds sitting there listening in their sexy nightgowns listening with me. I kid you not, that Jvc was a real chick magnet back in the day...

If I wasnt so straight laced and serious at the time I really could have cleaned up if I had a mind to......Those girls really loved my JVC. Since guys generally werent permitted in the Girls dorms after hours, (I only was because I was security) I and my Jvc could have really done Well, Thats one of the Advantages of having an Iconic Boombox

I have the Victor RC-838 which is the Japanese version, it has no SW 1 or 2 and the FM dial only goes to 90mhz

I also have one dead channel and just bought a new amp chip that I still need to install.

I really want to get my 838 up and running 100%.

When I first got it, it sounded fantastic. The BiPhonic settings on these are simply amazing.

I know what your saying about girls and boomboxes. I used to sit on the curb in front of my folks house with my box as a kid and spin tunes for the girls and they loved it. It was my first taste of "Popularity" when I was young. I used to keep track of the songs the girls liked and danced too and then started making mix tapes with just those songs!
