It's here my JVC RC-M90 has arrived. This thing is super clean no signs of old age or scuffs, nicks, nor scratches. The cassette door won't close because I believe there is a screw missing on the cassette deck mechanism. When I press the eject button, the whole cassette deck mechanism moves up and down. Hopefully it's just a screw and nothing is broken.

Here is a couple photos of my new piece.

Yeah dude! Looks great. Don't forget to check out the strap section when you wanna start carrying these things around often. Especially the M70 you're getting. They were built to use a strap.

And it begins...he's got the bug!
Man that looks real nice!
Haha, AGREED. 100%

Very clean M90 Will, if the cassette door is the only issue, you are pretty lucky. You got some nice heavy hitters, and the game just started!

The cassette door and chassis is now properly secured. The problem was as I thought, a screw issue. When I took the M90 back panel off, one screw fell out. I knew exactly what it was for. Once I took out the cassette mechanism, i noticed that two more screws were missing. I found the two screws stuck on the speaker magnets. I screwed them in and the cassette deck and door worked the way it was meant too. Surgery photos:

Hmmm, one screw fell out. Where are the other two screws :hmmm: There they go...

Great work! Many don't realise those clever Japanese engineers actually installed those big magnets back in the day to specifically capture loose screws!

Gotta Love those M90s. That one looks to be in excellent shape. Very glad you were able to get that door operating correctly. If the tape deck also plays you just increased the value of that box tremendously. Congrats my friend and Welcome to the M90 club. That would be a great box to shoot some pool and listen to some tunes :-)

Nice, that's pretty darn lucky the screw was in there and stuck to the magnet. Don't get much better than that for easy fixes. Congrats again.
