I was greeted today with a massive box lol unpacked the first box no packing just a box then found the dc7 wrapped up in another cardboard roll well sorta another box, no bubble wrap nothing just wrapped in like an inner cardboard box.

I felt sure the ghetto would be damaged as the outer box was damaged but nope the ghetto is perfect :w00t:

first off the sound i dont find it that great but saying that (shhhh m90 hoarders) i find it compairible with a standard :w00t: jvc dc33l wich is good enough for me :-)

What im frigging in love with is the sheer SIZE :w00t: and the build quality, guys this thing is HUGE way hevier than a jvcpc55
and way bigger than a dc33l skippy if you read this GET one you will love it, pick compero comming up compaired to a dc33l stay tuned..................

Yep. I love mine. The variable capacitor in the tuner is the huge all metal ones with fins -- the type found in vintage home tuners, The only other boombox I've found with this type of tuner capacitor is the Panasonic RX-7700. And the turntable is silky smooth. I found that it sounds very good. Wish there was more adjustment to the sound but I can certainly live with it.

Norm i think this is one of the first boomboxes where i have to use 2 hands to lift it on my lap from the sitting position

It brings new deffonition to the word ghettoblaster :-D :agree: about the tone controls rather basic but it gets there.

Hey norm do you have to push the turntable closed it seems the only way to close it but it does motor out to the play position.

Thanks for the comparo pic between the 7 and the 33.
I always wrongly assumed they where about the same size

I have the DC-7 and I also have the Sanyo C20 turntable box, the Sanyo is almost exact same
size as the 7 but not quite as heavy. The DC-7 is very very heavy

Aza if you can get a 33 get one i think the sound is better than the 7 espeicially if you change out the cones my 33 is bloody awsome, always wanted a c20 could of had one on the bay mint £30 but i have seen a sharp increase in value of these boxes a dc33 in the uk sold for about £230 when only a wile ago you could easily get one for £20
