My humble collection

Can't say I have a very presentable collection yet but I wouldn't want to hide them either ;-)

This is the one I got first (~30€). I had a great time with it, then one day the handle came off while I carried it through the city. Now it's standing in a friend's party shack because it would have been a shame to send it into retirement.

Of course I wanted to stay mobile with my music ;-) . So I bought this one (~50€). It's not made by a prestigious brand but it works quite well. It's not exactly in mint condition but - except for the lights - everything works. Two weeks ago I walked through the city with it and a few guys actually decided they'd rather join me and my blaster instead of going into a club  .

Today I visited some kind of second hand shop and got these two for 5€ each. The Sharp's manufacturing quality is really great. I'll definitely look for another Sharp.

nice ones welcome to the site   most of the newer boxes had plastic side bars instead of the metal ones found on the older boxes but you might be able to find one and rig it on there

Thanks to all of you ;-)

And for the three-piecer, I guess it wouldn't be worth the trouble of fixing it. The tape decks didn't work in the first place and when the handel came off it of course fell to the ground. When that happened the latch of one of the boxes broke. Both boxes can still be attached but if you turn it upside down the one with the broken latch will go off. And as if that wasn't enough, the boxes' plugs are in a mediocre condition...

Edit: But once it even survived a garden hose attack  . On vacation in Italy we were doing the limbo dance with quite a few people and my boombox provided the music. We were quite loud. The janitor cut of the power - the lights went out - but as the box ran on batteries of course the music kept playing. After a while his last resort was to chase us away with water :-D After a few minutes we regrouped and went to the beach :-) Got me mentioned in the year book and in a speech during the graduation ceremony.

The original antenna replaced with this one. Seems to work, anyway. The tape deck doesn't really work, it starts playing but gets messy after a short time. Good there was a cassette still in there otherwise it would have killed one of mine...
The sound is good from what I can tell at the moment, I have to do a proper soundcheck when I get the tape deck working again.

New arrival! This time a Samsung BD-80L :-) Haven't seen many Samsung blasters so I definitely wanted to get this one. I kind of like Samsung. My TV which also serves as my computer screen is a Samsung, too, for example. I also like the Samsung Wave. Anyway, the 30€ were totally worth it! Except for FFWD/RWD on tape deck A everything works fine. Manufacturing quality is good and it's clean as can be. On top the sound is really good and that is although I only tested it via phono in yet.

I guess as soon as I've fixed the line in of my Clatronic Jumbo I'll do a sound comparison of the Samsung, the Jumbo and the D8444.

Not replaced, this is the rest of the antenna....
But easy to replace against a new one.
Congrats, nice box.
A little work and back to beauty! :super:

Dunno... I thought it was broken first as well but when I took a closer look I couldn't see anything broken or something like that. Just looked kinda... whole.

Btw, the Sharp left the collection. A friend is moving into a shared appartment so I gave him the GF6060 for the kitchen :-)

Got my first one back last night. I guess I am going to fix the handle after all.
I took a quick snapshot for size comparison.
