Okay, I spent some time on this one. Cleaned and deoxed all switches and sliders. Replaced all belts, lubed flywheel, cleaned pinch rollers and heads, demagnetized play heads and capstan, adjust azimuth. It works and sounds great.

To me the bottom have of the boomer did't go well with the top half and I wanted to bring them together. So the only modification I made was the cassette transport covers are removable and painted one green to match the green cassette door cover and the other red to match the red cassette door cover. To me it brought the whole boomer together and looks even bigger now.

I have the same box. Havn't touched it since I got it off epay years ago. Maybe it will be next on my list thanks to you! Nice job.

Thanks everyone!! :-D Bill, yes no line in, but I'm old school a product of the 80's. LOL     I'm not into the compressed file sound of MP3s so that doesn't bother me. I still like a great quality analog sound. Yes I play cassettes in all my boomers even with the ones that have line in. I will put my Technics SL-1200mk2 turntable playing a great record and my Nakamichi RX-302 playing a great quality cassette against any MP3 player. I adjust the play head azimuth with a 10khz tape through a frequency counter at work ( I also perform an ear test playing the 10khz tape and switching from stereo to mono and checking to hear if I loose any high frequency ) and believe me I get that cassette player in that boomer sounding great. Audiophile......a term that is never used with MP3 players or recordings.

Not an indoor boomer, but a BLASTER and great for outdoors. It's louder than my Lasonic TRC-931. I just blow on the volume sliders and the volume goes up 3dbs!!
