man what a pleasant surprise!
i figured since nobody else bid on it that i was getting a lemon, but this thing sounds great!! and its in great shape cosmetically.
mini VU meters are cool....and they work.
LCD clock with original battery....corroded of course....but the clock works!!!!
tape door broke but it looks like a clean break and the piece is still attached to the hinge inside. hopefully easy fix.
verdict.....best deal ive gotten on a boomer so far.
cant wait to clean it up.

first impression for about 2 minutes before i took it apart.......
cant touch the grails of course.
sound not as full as the M9990 or the CR100
but probably as loud and clear or better than any other mid size i got..
i played a heavy hitting rap song and turned it up pretty loud with no distortion whatsoever.
im impressed. that was a only 2 minutes though.....if my opinion changes after i put it back together, i'll let you know.

This box has been on my radar for years, when stereo2go member Vlad had one for sale on eBay.... i'll never buy another box from him again tho! :nonono:

I just got my first Toshiba too :w00t:
Found this RT-170S at a thrift store. Needs new belt but besides this it's fine :yes: Although Line-in is pretty quiet :hmmm:
First (quick) impression: Nice sound!
