Not a grail, but these days if it's less than $10.00 & has line in, I'm so there, dude!

Just happened to find it at Goodwill for $4.33. It was pretty filthy so I took it home and spiffed it up. No sound out of the left channel and the right was on continuously even when you changed the balance. Two quick puffs of deoxit and it roared to life!
The sound is better than any other box it's size (and some larger) that I've got. Lots of bass and crisp highs for just two 4.5 watt full range speakers and two teeny tiny piezo tweeters. Digital tuning, high speed dubbing, five way graphic EQ, etc. Like I said, not a grail, but it's found a new home. A definite keeper.

It almost has a Sansui look about it with that color scheme. Are those some of your reel cassettes or are those printed backgrounds that some units had to make it seem like you had reels?

Ah, heck. There's no need for all that. :-)

By the way, did you take off the aluminum reels before you painted them? I've tried to remove some before and I bent them all to hell and back before getting them off. :-/

They looked kind of fragile to me, so the first bunch I did I just removed both reels and sprayed them, tape and all. I figured shoot, after all they are just for show and taking photos anyway.

I might have to do some studying on that...
