My first "new-ish" in box, boombox!

I saw this box on epay come up for something like $200 plus shipping OBO. Quietly put it on my watch list and forgot about it.

Checked it again a day later and the price was lowered a little bit . I thought I better keep an eye on it if they are so quick to drop the price.

Sure enough, the next day the price was down again! ....... never looked at the location until this price change and saw that it was only 45 minutes away .

Contacted the seller and kind of made a low offer on it because I couldn't afford the buy-it-now price . He accepted my offer! Woohoo! He now has my phone number on speed dial so that when he goes back to his storage unit, he will call me and let me know what other boomboxes he has before he lists them on ebay!

I have no doubts that the RX-5085 sounds great... but, those really small chrome caps just bug the crap out of me.

However, I certainly wouldn't pass up one that nice if I had the money. Fabulous score, Joe!!

The tiny chrome dust caps bother me too and I had a dream last night that I put the Lasonic 922 white speakers in this 5085! . Very clean boombox, it's like a blast from the past.
