What sort of amplifier are you using to drive to RS-1's? I hope the transaction goes smoothly for you, they are very nice cans.

Thank you sir Its only an aiwa stack im using but she is nearly as good as any valve amp i have had in the past, failing that i have quite a few amps to chose from. the rs1's are not hard to drive as there only 32 homs :-)

An old Aiwa stack? Are you familiar with the folks over at Head-Fi? I browse the forums on a pretty regular basis there and there is some good information to be had if you can work your way around all of the "I have x amount of dollars/pounds/yen/old deutschmarks that I found in a box and am wondering which amp I should buy." posts. It's a very good place for asking questions about a particular amplifier or set of headphones before you buy as it'll help give you a rough idea of what to expect.

Yyp been on there some people actually say they sound good on an ipod lol, some how i HiGHLY doubt that but i know for sure my aiwa has more than enough power quality to drive them, put it this way i receintly bought a set of sony sa5000 headphones wich i have now sold but my aiwa nearly blew them lol they were farting to the max lol :-)

Some of the new people there just need a little bit more time to learn the ins and outs but for the most part the people there are quite knowledgeable. You just end up getting a lot of those new people posting which makes me a tough time finding the good posts. What sort of valve amps have you had in the past?

I dont remember makes but a friend of my mum used to build them for a living so i used to get some good perks he worked with sir clive sinclair

the spectrum dude some of his amps used to sell for £3000 on ebay so they must have been pretty good ones.

But yea i have loved good quality sound all my life, if these rs1's are as good as I remember them they now do a pair of cans for £1600 over here and they will be next on my list.....

This is why i have such a hard time with quite a few boomers sounding bad i just cant put up with sheit sound I love my music too much for that.....

Btw dont buy a pair of sony sa5000 cans they sound awful and it sure aint my equipment :-)

Well the GRADO rs'1's are in they sound beutiful I have not compaired them to my faithful technics cans yet but i suspect my technics have more bass, but saying that these cans have plenty of bass and a RICH warm clear sound.

I will say this though They do NOT nead a headphone amp I suspect if i REALY cranked them on my AIWA they would be blown or damaged

Now to get my serious equipment out and lets see both my technics and grados crank out that sub bass......

One thing I will say these grados are SUPERB for such small headpones.... one last thing the sony sa5000 were rubbish compaired to these GRADOS

Yes, he does have more grails than he knows what to do with.
I met him at his house on sunday, he helped me sort out my RX-DT707 with a sick cd unit. What a fantastic guy, can't do enough to help you out, he gave me his semi sick 707 with a good cd unit, now mine is working A1.

His pad was like walking into an Alladin's Cave of boomboxes, the man is dedicated like no other.

RIMMER, YOUR THE TOPS!!
