Hey guys just got my M70 all back together and working again 100% after pulling it all apart and cleaning everything up, picked it up last week and it had been sitting around for a long time im guessing, the amount of dirt and grime and dust that was build up on it and inside it was crazy. body wise it was in very good nick though, not too many scratches, damaged areas and i think it came out looking pretty good, was abit nervous having never pulled a box apart to this extent before but after taking lots of pictures and labelling screws etc so i knew where everything belonged it ended up looking a treat! even got it to work on batteries and fixed some static issues i was having through the speakers, now it sounds fantastic! also repainted the woofer grilles and chrome surround bolts.
just have a couple questions, it was missing the top 3 bolts that run along the top of the back case and i can't figure out what length they should be, can anyone show me what kind of screws they should be? also how do you tighten the antenna posts as they are too loose and swivel everywhere. the original antennas where broken so i pinched some similar off a crappy box i had lying around, they aren't perfect but do the job.
only thing i need to do is glue the label strip with all the tape names etc on and have to find a battery cover.
heres some before and after pics :-)
also made a quick little video, qualtiy isn't the best though!

Nice!...big difference between before and after, it's sooo satisfying when it starts off looking a bit crappy and ends up gleaming!

I'll have a look at those tops screws later and post a pic with measurements if no one beats me to it

Congrats on a cracking job done :-)

Nice job. What happened to the top trim with the tuner plexi (rec mute Dial light labels) did you forget to replace it or refurbishing it?

Get some Novus and polish the tuner glass first ;-) maybe use a good quality DS tape, a lot of glues might damage the plexi

Wow super job. Looks like other boomer now. Just realized that when im parting boomers im not marking the screws and there is no way i can figure where which one goes when i put em together with others  . I somehow like to use old 80s screws to comlete boomers  Last time my parted 777 got just 3 screws left and what was the surprise - next 777z which i bought was missing 3 of them. Some times looks stupid to collect such tings , but when they saving another one is big  .
Great job dude.

To re-attach the plexi and the metal trim on it, I use a product called 'black RTV'. Use for automotive gasket maker but works awesome for the M70. Make a little blob of the RTV and use a toothpick to spreat little amounts where you can see the old black residue.

Very good information Joe!

I also need this product then. The metal trim on mine is also coming off and didn;t want to use any strong glue there to hold it.
