You may not like the way they look but heres a question, do they work???
Its been my experience that digital tuners tend to be less problematic with age.

Not that you care what I think, but I would rather have the digital tunerm the dials look good on some boxes I just prefer digital

I Am Legend
nope --
because its fun to diddle with the knob :-D :-D :w00t:

and because --with analogue -we can scan the entire dial range in 2 seconds-
and with digital --its like forever - pressing the stupid button :dunce:

The digital tuners are great performers generally but for classic looks it's the dial that looks right.
I guess I'm bi-tuner, I go both ways. :-P

An analog tuner has the advantage of fine tuning. The digital is far more accurate with quartz locking which my Sansui CP-7 and 99W have. Until this was widespread (on home audio) you would actually have TWO tuners available on some recievers with the ability to select digital or analog.

Depending on the application they both look good. :-)

I guess it really doesn't matter to me so much because I only have one piece of equipment with a digital tuner - the Aiwa CS-880 (well, two pieces if you include my truck radio). I agree with Ira that there is just something more "natural" about analog tuning, but the quartz-locking of digital tuners is more convenient. :-) I think that's what it all boiled down to with digital tuners on boomboxes. Companies were trying to use technology to make things "easier." More times than not, digital sucks.

I think where the whole push-button digital thing chaps my ass is when you have push-button volume/balance/tone controls. That's when I simply want to walk away.

:agree: That annoys the F*** out of me, I need the good ole standard dial.

that's what is nice about the 880 and 770, they are almost the same other than the digital tuning and the passive radiator, depending on which one you get you have trade offs on certain features, and since I like both of themn I guess I like analog tuning as well, as long as the tuning is right on frequency. I have a Super radio and the analog tuning is about 1 1/2" off on the dial!

What's up with all the A-Holes who hack? Is it that they are social misfits so this is their sex? Frankly I think wasting time trying to hack someones web site is totaly retarded, what knobs these people must be.

All this talk about going both ways and diddling with your knobs makes me want to stay far away from this topic :gathering:
no but seriously analogue tuners look awesome but its functionality is kind of like the cassette thing, to me more of a novelty.
BTW Bobby you tryin to sneak one past the goalie with not posting up your new addition???
