I like the two in the middle. The top one looks like a Magnavox thingamajig and the bottom one.... well, it's big and black and probably empty -- not really my java but cool looking.

Very nice start to a collection indeed... middle two would shine as far as sound and sheer quality are concerned ,but the Intersound swings it for me on cool factor, despite the lacklustre sound of those Intersound/Unisef/Crown black boxes.

Keep us posted with your future acquisitions.

Boy that Phillips really went for that industrial look didn't they.
Your photo really brings out the detail in the speaker trim and such.

Just got the Mag --- this is my 2nd vintage boomer. About a month ago, got a JVC RC-656. By far, the Mag has the bettet sound (in my humble opinion, of course). Funny, the JVC has more high-end features, such as a fine-tuning knob, etc., and even though it's a smaller box, is HEAVIER without batteries than the Magnovox is with batteries (both take 8 Ds). But the Mag has way more bass response -- puts the boom in boombox!

awesome! today the universum supersound16000 arrives! packaging = BULLSHIT but it arrived in one piece without damage. review: sounds better than i expected. a small box but very heavy sound. in comparison with the GF-9292 this box is ten times better .. this thing has woofers who look exactly like these of the jvc m70! i am very happy with this box. every collector should have one of these.. in my opinion one of the best midsize boxes!! believe me. i still can not believe the sound that comes out of this radio.


why buy a m70?? get a supersound!
