In the late 70's to mid 80's boomboxes were synonymous with street dancing and street hoops. I remember being at the park playing hoops as a kid and there was ALWAYS a boombox present, and you can't breakdance without a boombox. The type of tennis shoes you wore were just as important as the boombox you carried. In my neighborhood if you weren't wearing a pair of Nike, Adidas, Fila, or K-Swiss you were given a lesson in the latest fashion trends via the dozens (dozens: being ridiculed so bad you went home crying to your mama)...ahh those were the good old days. I decided to take out some of my shoe collection and pair them with some of my boomers for a retrospective. I don't have as many boomers as most of you as I am new to this hobby but my first love (shoes) I have an insane amount of (I lost count at 1,000). I hope you enjoy the pics.....

...thanks Ghettoman but they are quite expensive here as well. It is very common to pay $200-$300 for a limited edition color and sometimes up to thousands for an autographed pair.

You have a fortune tied up in shoes.... :jawdrop:

Are all 1000+ pairs in your size???? :hmmm:
...all are in my size and I have worn every pair at least once...wouldn't seem right to have them sitting there collecting dust. Plus my son wears the same size shoe so he knows he will inherit them all!!

Melly,
Bust out the limited ed. Dunks and Jordans.
Nice assortment they look fresh.

I like to buy limited eds, but I wear em', I don't collect. :sin:
Shoes that I always have around include a fresh pair of shell toes, a pair of hi tops usually some kind of dunk, Clark's Wallabies, A pair of Timbo's and some Stacy Adams. Staples for the past 2 decades, I'll probably always have this line up.

Nice collection melly mel, both boxes and shoes!

....thanks Master Z, I love Timbos as well as Luggz....and my Stacy's sit next to my Ferragamo's in the closet. The Ferragamo's are the most comfortable loafer made, without question! Glad to know we have some shoe lover's as well on this site.
