Remember the Raccoon Kaboom? Still gets regular use and the sound is unreal. As good as many home theatre systems.

Lol. Perfect timing for the picture. Lol.

I don't know of your setup... but I'm guessing the tv speakers went out? Or just thought you'd try it?

Makes sense, I'm sure the kaboom would sound way better than the tv.

You're spot on with using the Kaboom Norm. A lot of people go and get sound bars, etc. not realizing how much better a good boomer is. Some even allow for using four speakers, such as the JVC PC-W350.

Sorry for the rant below you hit a chord with me.

I can't understand why people use their TV for audio. Seriously is right. Even my JVC m50 sounds a thousand times better hooked up then the damn cheap ass speakers built into the TV. I've always used either a boombox or a home stereo hooked up to a tv and shut off the tv's internal crap speakers.

Whenever we visit other peeps homes and have to watch TV with 'stock' sound its down right painful. For f*ck sake folks.

I'm glad I hit the right chord. Lol.

I've actually not tried hooking up a box to my tv yet. Even though I always have one in the living room, it never occurred to try it. Makes sense though.

Except that I already have surround sound. Lol. Still I'll give it a go.

yep. very serious . I have a high end Sony 7.1 surround sound processor with 110w x 7, and a 150w Pioneer subwoofer and all the satellite speakers. While the Sony system with all the speakers can get louder and has better peripheral effect, the kaboom was ih so simple to rig up. So after my move, I haven't even bothered to unpack the surround sound yet and the kaboom is all I need. I only listen to it at about 30/60 loudness anyhiw so I don't need more power and the deep bass effects are fine with it.

Have you ever heard a kaboom? The full size one? If not, then I guess you'll never know.....

The JVC Kaboom is my go to for outdoor movies. Both at home or when we go to the drive-in. Nothing else has the power or bass, so it's what I use.

Norm, when will you start mass-producing those tweeter brackets for the Kaboom? :-)

He's got them. Needs to clean up the edges of the brackets, but they are at his place somewhere!

I've never even seen one in person. But I hear some you rave about the sound, regardless of the non-traditional look.

I dunno, I think my kaboom looks great in front of my TV. If only I could find a better stand than those 2 empty boxes, lol.

I don't mean ugly, I mean not the typical "box" shape. That one of the ones you painted? I've alway been a fan of the "burnt orange" on cars. Looks good.

WP_20150614_22_36_30_Pro.jpgOk so 75 PMs later asking about the little blip on the upper left corner of window, here is a better picture. Gorging on the bugs attracted to the lights.
