So, I have been collecting boomboxes over the past year or so and have some decent boxes. I look alot on Craigslist and have picked up a few at garage sales or thrift stores. I have an app on my phone that will search CL for whatever I'm looking for at the time. I added "boombox" to the items to search for about 2 months ago, 99 times out of 100 its an egg or a cheap cd boombox, but I always check it. Tonight I get an alert on my phone and see its from the boombox search term and I hop over to CL to expect to see another cheap boombox that I dont want and my EYES ALMOST POP OUT.

80's DISCOLIGHT BOOM BOX FOR SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (posted about 10min before I saw it)

Immediately I am calling the number as the location was only about 15 min from my house. NO ANSWER! Call again 2 min later . NO ANSWER! Leave a message about the boombox they are selling trying not to sound like a stalker at 9:15pm, or a boombox addict, and that I "might be interested in the boombox". 5 Min later getting ready to call again and my phone rings. Yes she still has it (WHEW!) we chat for a minute about it and I ask if I can come tonight to look. No Problem. Off the phone and out the door in like 2 seconds, yell at my wife I'll be back!. Im driving like crazy to get there and all I can think about is that one person that is going to beat me there that lives 30 seconds closer than I do. Not this time!!! I am the first one on the scene and walk out with a nice little discolight!!!

Needs some work, tape door has come off but its not broke, the two lights to the right are not working behind the speakers, the only power to the box seems to be to the lights. They flash but not like they normally should. Tuner dial seems to be disconnected as the dial just free spins and the indicator does not move. But all that can be fixed. Missing one of the badges on the front, it has the "audio visual" one but is missing the "disco lite" one. I think I saw someone here make one of these for theirs that was missing one. I need to find that post.

Cosmetically its in great shape and just needs to be cleaned and needs a new antenna. Offered $150.00, Got it for $170.00, I think she may have actually got it for free or very little cost at a moving sale and then checked online to see if it was worth anything and figured 200.00 was a good deal for her as it certainly was for me! Well I guess Monday I will be heading down to my guys electronics repair shop on Monday and get this thing going again!!

Well quick update. Everything is now working except the 2 lights behind the right 2 woofers and the tuning. All bands are working and both cassette days play rewind and FF! Must have a loose connection inside that needs repair, after doing some cleaning and moving it around it came to life.
