While going through my collection I brought out my Akai AJ505FS that I bought in 1998. At that time I was so worried because the tape section was not working. It had no power to the deck section, but belts were all fine. After several unsuccessful attempts to revive the deck, I stored it all wrapped up in plastic. I was always sad when I see this nice looking Akai with the non working tape deck section. Radio and all other functions worked excellent and I love the weighted flywheel tuning knob.

When I see this unit again after so many years I am falling in love with it.

It is in near perfect cosmetic condition also.

I'm enjoying listening to FM and using line in playing Ipod.

I wish I could fix the deck..

Let me know if anyone got a working deck section for sale.

I'll post pictures soon

Sad to say, I don't think anyone will be able to help, because I've never seen anyone post a pic of that model before. Looks cool. Sadly Akia never became very popular, because none of their boxes were "street style" --- They were all office/living room style. But I love them.
