Greetings Everyone,

I have these sharps, sadly not in minty condition, but they make quite a racket :w00t:
These units are not finished being restored, as the unit on the left needs microphone covers which I am working on. The cassette is not 100% operational, but the solution was given to me in a previous thread.

Do I like these 9494s? You bet. They go loud. I am using the Mixing Mic input for the iPod, when you get the level right it plays back decently. I think the bass response of the unit on the right with the black dust caps is more controlled, I don't know if this was a feature out of the factory gate or something that has evolved over time.

Any ideas? :hmmm:

Cheers

Cool boomers  . The one with chrome caps should be X modification, the black caps one is any other ( H 13 H 22, SB and so on.... ). Those are the original caps on both of them  . Congrats.

:agree: And some are saying that 22w with the black caps are just a second sticker on the top of the 12w sticker ..... The one with chrome caps should be real 22w. But who knows the marketing ways of that time  . Can be some different measurement "standards" .

I would really like to know the wisdom of this from Sharp, as if there was a real difference in output power you could say, 'fair enough'. They play loud to similar levels so I am left thinking
