so i was sitting in my chair listening to Gravediggaz, and i got the idea to put some bright orange LEDs behind the speaker grills, it was simple to understand how it would work, so i went ahead and tore the box apart and got started, the only thing i had trouble with was i wasnt sure on where to put the LEDs to help the light distribute evenly, what i ended up doing was running the wiring through the side of the speaker grill on the inside and along the grid on each side, and i have each LED hotglued to the center of the grill pointing towards the dome cover on each speaker, i think it turned out pretty well

i dont have any good pictures, i had to shoot this video with my laptop, and the audio is out of sync, also the leds dont seem to respond as well or be as bright as they are in person, ill be getting my camera back tomorrow finally, so ill shoot a new video, and add some good pictures, until then this is all i got, i just want to show it off

Sweet look, adds a nice discolite touch to that box.
I like the way the grill breaks up the light and makes it look like more LED's.

Looks like he just tapped into the speaker wires and there is enough power to have the LEDs come on. I have seen people do this with car audio and LED strips.

yeah, thats exactly what i did, pretty easy actually, hardest thing was positioning the LEDs correctly

it also works with a low voltage bulb.

:grim: That Gravediggaz track is dark man, but it's one of my favourites :grim:

Nice Mod, did something similar on a larger scale for an exhibition called 'A Century of Sound' where we used power amps to make spot lights pulse with the music in a room.

Might give a boombox a go if I come across a suitable model, yours worked out pretty good
