i embarked on a non-stop quest to grab the very first one available
"any condition --any price"

sure enough --my prayers were honored

proudly --and now on the way to florida is this total POS !!! :'-(
worse than that --its untested --seller had the ' no cord- no battery ' syndrome

IF ANYTHING at all works --this will be come another perfect addition to my
vast collection of kiddie beach party rentals--

if not --save your funds for my next 'members only' auction

hey mono --you were mostly right --

the TC999 you have is such a magniicent looking object --
that i really would have paid some good $$ for a nice one --

but --right after your post --i put up want ads on both sites --got ZIP

and then --nothing on ebay --

so --this is my 'grail of the week'

I seriously hope you can get all the stuff you need for that box. You're lucky 'cause if the dude who sold it to you sold me the battery cover, that would be one more part to hunt down. Unfortunately for me, he wanted me to buy the whole box.

I don't believe you -- it was NEVER mint. B-Cuz nothing can fall that far from mint.

But now that the question is moot, since it's already on it's way -- I say........

Dremel out the bottom part, below the tuner. Replace it with a nice acrylic panel, complete with LCD panel for playing back music videos from your ipod line in.

OR add a nice spectrum analyzer display there. At least THEN, it will look bitchin while playing back FM or line-in jams.

It has a phono input, but doesn't need one of those line level boxes to mellow it out.

I've never heard a C-100F (up close), so I can't answer that question.

Great score Ira, I won't side with the haters!! Much respect to you for picking her up!

As the TC-999 is essentially a souped up C-126 I'd imagine part swapping from one would work great.
The deck door wouldn't be exceptionally hard to custom to TC-999 colours either.

Good luck fixing her up, I reckon all Norm and Ramon will be salivating over her when she's all working too!

Agree - BUT, I would buy something like that to mount a car cd player and a 12v moped battery in it. Just gut the case, keep the speakers or upgrade them, and boom away.
