I love the way the door opens but can imagine that some want more direct / quick access to the record, needle etc. And i love the way it plays both sides with a push on the button but others will prefer the ability to place the needle more manualy above / on the player. So it fits my needs and the technology still amazes me. But it is not my every day record player. Hope this helps a bit

And it is my work room, so because of Covid and working from home for the last 14 months, this is the back ground people see when i have video conference. Every day i get the question if the back ground is reeel. It always triggers nice conversations.
Ha I have my shelves in the background in Zoom meetings and I was asked the same thing...was it real. Think they were a bit shocked when I said they were lolYeah!
