Which ones qualify as the mid ‘80s grails?
Let‘s say models from 1983-1986, after initial boom from the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, and before they all beame black and dull in the late ‘80s. Single-piece units only. I keep trying to figure out why was it that best of the ‘80s design and color range was never applied to mid size or large single piecers? Only combos, minis and 3-piecers seam to have been touched by it, single piecers close to none. Was it that larger units were considered as for “audlts“ so they had more conservative design and therefore lacked the “cool“ touch and warm, bright coloring?
I hope to be proved wrong as much as possible with either a make/model name or a pic.
