Went for a visit to stereomads house in Crawley yesterday.

Saw his collection in the flesh for the first time and was totally blown away.
To list just a few: C100, M90, Bombeat WX1, GF999, GF1000, RX5350. All totally clean.

Got to hear for the first time JVC 550, RX5350 and of course the M90.
This box was the nuts. we gave it a good work out and my ears were ringing on the way home like I had been at a gig.

Unfortunately we forgot to take any pics while I was there but here is some pics of the of the new boxes I bought home with me after we did a couple of trades.

Stereomad is a great guy and I really enjoyed my visit and love my new boxes (I also learned what "a bag of sand" is lol ).

A southern bloke who didn't know what a bag of sand meant? Really? Mike Brewer would be shocked.

Still, it hardly matters 'cos there's not a box in the world that's worth as much as that. ;-)
I like my C5 but they sound loads better with some suitable damping in the speaker cabinets as found in most other 3 piece boxes.
I used rockwool in mine and its bass no longer sounds like someone hitting the inside of a cardboard box with the back of a blunt spoon.
Glad to read that the M23 is officially no longer the best thing to come out of Crawley. :-D

nice boxes -
micro-meets are often the most productive --
bc we get a clear chance to really concentrate on each box at every volume

Man...how you can have a meet and not take pics?!...how are we supposed to share in the fun? ;)

Would love to see Lee's collection in the flesh and I'd love to be bringing that mono back home :)

Glad you had a blast...probably about time we arranged a bigger UK meet :)

Wow super. Love the meets.
Do you mean "sandbag" in the gaming meaning ( superior player pretending to be weak ) ?
You mean stereomad ? I can agree with that too .

Not sandbag, bag of sand. It's Cockney (and Glaswegian) rhyming slang for a grand or, as it appears on other folks' bank statements; €1000 or £1000. ;-)

Look under "Mike Brewer" on youtube for further clarification. He's an estuary-dwelling Mockney twunt who says it often.

Some nice boomers in those pictures. Wish we could see more. :-) That sounds like an excuse to have another meet!
