I've always had a soft spot for the mini style radios, trying to pack features into astreamlined box with lots of restrictions makes me really appreciate the models that pushed the limits of what a mini box can be. And the colours just can't be beat.

And now I've managed to score one of the royalties of the breed to my eyes and ears, the Sanyo M7880K. This was given to me by one of my clients at work and is in so close to brand new condition my eyes nearly fell out of my skull. This radio is an EXTREME masterpiece. Colour choices, features and sound. It just all screams quality.

I've not seen one of these before, looks a similar design to another all silver Sanyo with dual antennas. I gave her a good clean last night and got her rebelted so she's all back to 100% functioing. She really is a wonderful unit.

Anyone else has/had one? These must be appreciated somewhere amongst the brotherhood!

On with the show!

Mirror shine top. Classy!

She sounds great too! Very dynamic thanks to the separate tweeters and a surprising amount of volume. The tape deck sounds great, AMSS works perfectly too. I takes a couple of tries to get the take up wheel spinning occassionally, but that's all that's imperfect. Very happy to have her in the collection. And the lady that gave me her will be getting something special from an anonymous gluecifer this xmas.

I never was interested in these minis until I received my first Sanyo Mini a few months back. After trying it out, all I can say is WOW. After that I became a true believer. I was missing out all these years. I now have 2 but always on the lookout for more.

That's a sweet little mini right there, Rick! The black, silver, and dark red accents are most excellent.

Thanks guys, I realllly love this one a lot.

Ira: She actually came in that condition! I tried some Black Magic car wax on her, but there wasn't any discernable change.
I often put that stuff on to see if it makes an improvement, but mainly because I adore the smell of it.

I believe those are pretty rare... I've only seen one on eBay and it needed some work.

Take great care of that one, Glue... ;-) That's a gem!

Btw, great pictures!
