Mike stopped by tonight so I can help replace a blown transistor in his Lasonic TRC920 and demagnetize tape head on JVC RC550.. We had a great small meet. Hopefully a Sunshine meet will happen soon to so we both could go to that meet. Mike is very cool with some real nice boomers!!! Thank you again for stopping by brother...892078FD-327A-462F-8CC8-200AB62AFC49.jpeg

Heck ya! It was nice meeting up with you again Bill, and great picking your brain. Always nice to get some pointers with electronic related repairs, to continue to get better. Next time I'm up your way I'll bring the M90 and we can get to cranking!

The 920 deck played well for another 30 minutes today. That resistor does get hot...but hopefully doesn't burn out.

Yes, I do love the TRC-920. Nice bass, and I'm a fan of the LEDs!!

I had replaced all the belts on the 550 and replaced the deck motor. The deck was working well, but the sound was so muffled. I can't believe I didn't damag the tape head, and more surprising was the drastic change in sound quality once you did it. It sounds like new again....probably was never demagnetized over its entire life.

Excellent! Even with just two collectors in the room, sharing radio's together takes on a whole new dynamic. Highly recommended to all collectors.

Love them 920's!
