It looks like I'm going to have to paint the case on my newly aquired box to get it looking ok. I've got a can of silver which looks to be a fairly good match but it'll need a coat of clear to seal it. So what would you guys recommend? I'm leaning towards satin or matt as I don't think a blingy, glossy finish would look right. Also, the plastic on these things is pretty rigid, is plastic primer neccessary?

Really depends how & where it's going to be used. For outdoors use, it should be as glossy as possible to attract attention. But if it will mostly sit inside, next to your other boomers, then it should be matte or satin so it matches the faded look of your other boomers.

IMO at least.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll go with satin. Matching it to the rest of my boomers shouldn't be a problem. I've only got one
