Mars JR-600 / Sanwa 4600 review

Got this from Jens.....I suspect it was made by the same outfit that made Diatone, because the label font style is similar, as is the "JR" they use in their model names.

Surprising amount of power for this size......Very thick heat sink. Tight bass and tons of treble. Sweet looking LED meters. Metal knobs too.

Considering the captions language - I guees it was made for the German market.

Woofer grills design does remind me of that of my Diatones - JR-611 and 711.

It would be interesting to have a look at the pic of Sanwa back plate.

But it was made in Taiwan. The speakers and circuit boards were made by Tatung, a 100 year old Taiwanese company that still manufactures TV's, computers and cables.
It takes 9 D-cells.

Tatung sounds like the noise a latching system makes on a dishwasher/clothes dryer/locking cabinet door/etc..

So, no relationship to Mitsubishi/Diatone has been traced yet.
Maybe they were just inspired by Diatone grills design and also decided to "inherit" model index which definitely looks and sounds nice - J R!
I have recently read about Tatung - very interesting, never knew about this company before.
