BREDGEO and CAPITAL G have shown exceptional skill at duplicating knobs and sliders and GLUCIFER has shown us Lego ain't just for kids with his modification of lego blocks into switches ;)
But what do you do when you don't have a part you can duplicate. Or what if the original is broken. I have shown how damaged parts can be patched up, duplicated and even converted to metal in my post regarding the wm1 linkage in the walkman sectiion. I will try showing you how one could go about fabricating a knob from scratch.

I'll use baddbill's request for a Panasonic RX 5100 knob as a demo example...as I haven't seen one except in his picture this evening :)

so I feel sorry for him :) and decide to fool around with some modelling wax we dentists use while making dentures....trying to copy what I could see on screen

so once I am satisfied with my wax 'prototype' I just have to proceed with standard mold making and duplication :)

How pliable is that material ?

Does ity react with body heat and then harden or is there a post hardening phase?

Inquiring minds want to know

Keep up the good work!!
