I just saw this Best Buy commercial for speakers disguised as rocks, for use in the yard when one is entertaining guests.
The Best Buy rep narrates:"Just take your husbands old Boom-Box and hide it, then replace it with these speakers, he'll wonder where this great sound is coming from". The commercial show's a wife storing what looks to be a cool JVC in the cabinet while her hubby is out.
While I was cringing from this ad, the very next commercial was for McCdonalds. In attempt to convey a sense of "hip ness" they show people laughing, eating, and dancing on the streets of New York with Boom-Boxes. Two Lasonics and one Crown, I think.
So what's it going to be, Popular Media? Are Boom-boxes cool are not?
Cause we already know the answer.
