I'm just caught the bug for collecting boomboxes after buying a really nice Hitachit 3D7 online a few weeks ago. I already have several now including 2 Magnavox D8443's. I know they aren't the most desirable boxes, but I love the way the look. One is perfect and everything works, but the other is pretty rough, radio is dead as well as the cassete player so it wont play line in. I want to gut it and put some moden internals just so i can hook my mp3 player up to it and go thump at some parties. I'm pretty savvy at most mechanical things but Im not sure what all I would need to put inside. To run all 5 speakers do i need a 5 channel amp and crossovers? I still want it to run on batteries for at least a solid hour or so. Just need to know what basic components ill need.

Thanks

:hi: :hi: You will not need a 5 channel amp, but if i may suggest try to repair whats you got 1st as it is not that easy to completely rebuild these with different components and expect them to work 100% ;-) SEE this topic by one of our own Lasonic trc920 :-D
