So my Magnavox D8443 arrived today. I used buy it now on ebay and got it for $59.99. Seller mentioned left speaker down. This was a quick fix with a little contact spray. Tape works, radio sounds great and line in has been playing my old school kiss fm mixes from my macbook pro all afternoon  The level from line in is not as loud as from FM radio but it all sound great. So after a good cleaning and a quick walkover with the contact spray all in all I´d say
it´s been a good day. Battery cover is missing and it needs a new antenna. I´ll just keep my batteries in place with a little electrical tape for now. I´m also able to change the voltage internally to 220V and run it on a cord I have. As promised during my introduction pic below.

Fantastic! Well done, I love these radios, finally got one of my own thanks to RockE.

But, it's in need of the gear to drive the cassette, as documented here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10838

You're super lucky to have a deck that's fully working, Mattio!

Floyd: Didn't you come up with some wacky way of using line-out instead of line-in on these that made them sound better or something?

Rock On.

Yeah, thanks Gluecifer, I have to admit I expected it to be more worn down or beat up than it is. The only none functioning knob on it would be the balance, but I don tmiss that too much so I'm really happy with it. I'd be interested in hearing what Floyd did with the ins and outs to make Line In louder. For now I think I'll get me a cheap FM Transmitter for my iPhone and just boost my level ever so gently from my Macbook to make everything a little louder. Now I need to locate all my old mix and hip hop tapes :-D

  Nice pair Bendycat - may I ask what the difference between the silver and the black version D8443 is if anyone knows? Oh, and I got hold of a Belkin TuneCast II today so I can
(hopefully) run my Macbook and iPhone on FM with more volume than the Line In :-/ I'll report back later this evening when I get back from work and can check it out. :breakdance:

Linketylink to the Belkin TuneCast II if anyone's interessted (no affiliation of course) - http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage. ... _Id=181911

:annoyed: Ok - been testing some more. The tape deck plays and records, but both rewind and fast forward aint working   Bummer, but still I havent planned to use the tapedeck that much. The TuneCast II functions totally ok aslong as I´m not moving around too much.

BendyCat, that is the best photo of the D8443 I've seen. I like that angle because it makes the light reflect off the speaker trim-rings, and it shows off the imitation screws and rivets. I love big thick trim-rings.
