M70 needs play on tape pressed for radio to work?

Hey all, so i have a JDM M70 i have been restoring (pics and info to come) and all was going well until i put it all back together and now suddenly it need play to be pressed on tape for the radio to come on. If i switch the function switch to radio nothing happens, press play on tape and up pops the radio. It wasn't doing this thoughout all my testing whilst apart, then one final test before reassembly and all was fine, then all put back together and it was doing it.

I have had a look and i just cannot figure it out, any ideas?

You have a problem with the power switch. Maybe a simple assembly issue hopefully.

Great tip! I had an issue like that, just had to lightly sand the leaf contacts of the power switch

Well it's 10pm here, just finished putting her back together. She is sitting proud by the fireplace now. I'll do a thread for it tomorrow with a blow by blow account, minus teardown pics as i took them on the wifes phone and she apparently "thought i didnt need them anymore".

I have had a BluFuzz strap in the bottom of my wardrobe waiting for this day for approx 8 months now, clipping it in place was a bit emotional. Finally finished! My god it looks and sounds farking awesome.
