I had neglected my JVC RC-M70C for quite some time just sitting in display and not giving it some play just to keep her operating good. Well I asked for it as I posted on the belt section the deck won't play due to a loose belt. I took her apart which was not easy but not difficult and discovered the main belt was sooooo loose. I guess over the years of being played from the previous owner the original belt was losing it's firmness.

Before that happened I was able to record on a chrome tape some tunes from an FM station and played it on my Technics mini system I have to say I was impressed on the recording quality the JVC has. My buddy bklyn sound says his tech. told him that the tape deck heads are HiFi quality.

So my love for the M-70 has grown again. If only JVC had put some of that effort on the M-90 tape deck, But I still love them both.

To me M70 is the overall winner among all boomboxes! No doubt about that!  :-D
No wonder I have 3 of them and will buy one if I can get it for a good price.

I might have to crack mine open......I played it last week and it sounded great for about 20 minutes then it started to crackle for about 30 seconds than it went back to sounding great again. This pattern went on for an hour or so.
