Tape, paint, and a LOT of swearing!

If you have never opened up a lasonic, I would advise you not to do it. If you are just trying to do a quick mask off and paint, then check youtube for some nice how to videos .

The best way to learn to paint a boombox is to find a very cheap one to practice on. I have painted about 20 of them and every time I learn something new. Patience, prep work and technique are very important. Trust me and do not let the 931 be your first project. Find a small to medium sized cheapy, completely strip it down, sand and prep the surface, then paint it. After painting this practice boomer 5 or 6 times and you get a paint job you like then paint the 931. I will be happy to give you a list of the supplies you will need to get started. Here are some pics of my work...

Putting down a slick finish in general is a lot harder than it looks. Using rattle cans makes it that much harder. It will definitely take some practice. If you're pretty new I wouldn't even start on an old beater. Start on some random sheet of plastic and get a feel for the paint flow, the distance, controlling the movement.

Just a little friendly advice, if your 931 is in nice shape you should keep it original and get another beater off eBay to spray. Spraying them will lower value but if you get beater cheap heck it might raise its value ;-)
