Looking For Info On This Very Interesting Box

Hello, new here and looking for any info on this. I found a 1986 Cyberex BTR-800 boombox with TV, dual cassette recorders, and tuner. Detachable speakers. Got for free from a recycling center, doesn’t work. I could only find one single image online and none for sale. Not sure what the value is or if there is any at all. Any info is appreciated. Picture is of the one I found online, mine is unfortunately missing the left speaker. Thanks!

Another discussion got me thinking.... frequently overlooked, neglected otherwise in the closet boxes often get "no love" and seldom shared for fear of either ridicule, put downs etc. However, I know you've got some lurking in your closet, attic or garages. You know the ones, those Emersons...

If you think you’ve hit the lotto or found a goldmine, I’m afraid to burst your bubble. Unknown boxes, although often very rare do not get much interest. Missing a speaker probably renders it near unsaleable since the chances of finding one to complete the set is virtually impossible. Therefore I’d suggest if you’re technical enough to repair it, do that and enjoy it with some bookshelf speakers, as that’s a very good sounding and powerful piece. Or just offer it for parts if you aren’t. It’s not gonna be worth the repair cost to hire someone to do that.

I figured as much, I am going to try to fix it. It powers on but there’s no sound and a few other small issues. Mainly took it home since it’s neat looking and the TV does work. Found a burnt resistor inside so hopefully that’s the main problem. Thanks

Like Superduper Said, trying to find a speaker for that will be near on impossible because you don't see many around, it would have been a cool box if it was complete, most people would ignore those boxes but i like the little underdog radios, i have a few off brands myself and some of them are amongst my favourites.
