I don't even remember my first purchases...I have always been more of a seller then a buyer on eBay, but with the way the fee's are between them and PayPal, it's tough to make a buck :annoyed:

Back in the day, it was easy to buy stuff on Ebay & turn around and re-sell it for a profit, simply by taking better photos, or making sure it ended on Sunday instead of at 2 AM on a holiday....

But that was before all these dumbazz big-business retailers jumped in the game....

That was also back when feedback actually meant something......Now it's just the last 12 months worth.......

Yeah, big retailers F'd up epay. They should be sent off to Amazon with their "set prices" that you can't actually bid on or try to negotiate a price for  .

I use to search "ford contour" and bring up just about 250-450 items and look through them all, now it brings up 90,139 items. Precut window tint, LED strip lights, light bulbs, ****! :nonono:  :dunce: .

This is when I contacted ebay about being able to BLOCK sellers so their items didn't clog up your searches, they still don't have that option - gay

Do what I do ........set up a saved search, that includes Contour but excludes certain words like tint, bulbs, etc

Or do you do that already?

No, I don't have them setup like that because there would still be items that I want to look at that would be missed. I just want to block the obvious retailers that have 100 of the same item posted but have an auction setup for each :nonono: .

Irritating

all the aftermarket parts companies that only have buy-it-now prices on the "auction" WTF - they can't even compete with amazon or local parts store prices.

And these bastards with HUNDREDs of auction listings :nonono: :

Well at least it's better than Craigslist......Can't stand searching there.......Car dealers will throw up 50 listings of the same damn car.......Just change the words a little....

A lot of what happened was eBay use to charge more to list an item...but now you can literally list for free. So of course you can list 100 items and not pay any listing fees but they get you on selling fees and PayPal fees!!!

I remember one of my first purchases was a set of 22" wheels as a present to myself for my 22nd B-day..
This was back when you could still send money order, which I think I did.. to a seller in Florida with ZERO feedback, $1700!!
But, they arrived on a pallet..no problem!
Would I do that now..? HELL NO! Young and dumb..

I also kind of miss being able to see who was bidding on an item, instead of hiding the user name with A***7

They took that priviledge away, because people would send emails to bidders..

Once I sent a bunch of emails to bidders, warning them about a seller who jacked me once.

Yep, I used to just contact people outside of eBay and do the deal with out the fee's, that didn't last long...
