LLOYDS PT003 worth the buy?

Hi everyone! I'm just curious as to whether or not this specific model is worth the buy? Based on performance, bass, loudness, quality, life expectancy (lol), etc.

I have the opportunity to purchase one for $250, and the owner says it's working good. I questioned if it were tested and he says yes it has been.



Is this too low? or is this around ball park where it should be priced?

$250 is great price for clean fully functional. I just recommend this seller packing it very good as a black boxes are very well known for damages and shipping. When I ship a black box I always take either the transformer out completely packing it separately or putting packing material around the transformer inside the unit to keep it from breaking off during shipping. Just my 2 cents!!! Good luck....

I was surprised how great this box sounds when I got mine. Super clean sound and not a bad looker as well!

I would definitely grab it for $250 if it's in fairly decent shape. I've had many PT003's over the years, and they are by far one of my favorite radios of all-time. The sound of them is not quite as good as a 931, but they sure are beautiful to look at.

I bought one and it was shipped and the power supply had broken off. The LLoyds is one of the most fragile black boxes out there. If you can pick it up and your not uncomfortable with the price then do it.

Just got one myself, and I'm actually impressed with the sound. It's not JVC quality, but it holds its own. The bass is warm at low volumes, and the tweeters are indeed real, not fake like some of its AKA's have. And at only 13.5 lbs empty, it's easy to carry around.

Disappointing that there's no line in, though.

I'll have to open it up and see if the woofers are really 22cm as claimed by the badges. That would be 8.7 inches! The owners manual actually says they're only 8".
