Looking for boomboxes with lighted tuning needles. I think I used to have a radio or stereo that had a tuning needle that had two red lights that switched to green when you dialed in stereo all the way. But I'm not to sure, but it may of been a Lasonic 3-piece dual cassette.

I use the radios at the drive-in, which some of the radios seem to have trouble tuning in. So far most of them that I have taken can tune with some luck, but not all will stay locked on stereo. I usually take two boxes, so a tuning light would be useful to tell which box has drifted out of tune.

There are many boxes with illuminated tuner needles
And many differences. :-)

> Light all the time ( only for better finding the position in dark)

> Glows when stereo receiption or at good signal

> lights red and goes to green in good receiption (maybe some at stereo?)

I love this feature too!

Both my Denon's have this feature

Plus my TRC-931 and 975.

Should be a more common feature I think, and is waaayy cooler than an isolated FM Stereo LED on the end of a tuner scale.

Rock On.

If you can ever find one, a Sanyo M-X820/M-X824 has one like that but also the ultra cool, one of a kind flying LCD frequency display. Harder to find than a dodo egg fossil though.

Pioneer SK-71 has a cool lighted tuner dial... complete with green arrows to tell you which way to go to dial in the strongest FM Stereo signal.

(I think I posted a vid of the box and that feature in operation in my "my first pioneer" thread....)

Cool, I'll have to check out your video. I would love to get a Pioneer box someday. I just got my first Pioneer amp last year after years of looking.
