lets say you see a good value BIN --( the 'right' price -- NOT a score )
on a box you REALLY need/want....

but  :dunce: :'-( :dunce:
you stall and ponder for a minute too long--like a retard  :-P

and some zero FB bidder --hits the 99 cent starting bid -
to kill 'your' BIN :annoyed: :annoyed:

then --you watch the bids creep up --slow but sure - for 6 days -
till its at 95% of the BIN !!! :-O  :-D :-D

there are 10 seconds left -
can you get yourself to bid any or alot MORE than the BIN was ??

:-)

my secret is DON'T BUY UNLESS IT'S CHEAP ! .

rule # 2, don't bid unless it's still cheap in the closing seconds of the auction :-P

i learned this from star trek , the ferengi rules of Aquisition .

It was me that put the first bid in to kill the buy it now :dunce:  . I'm sorry :-/

I felt the buy it now of $350 on it was really low so I threw a $100 bid at it so it could sell for more! I am "blu_fuz (154) ". I should have just bought it instead of the Bere....... eh, nevermind ;-)

Seriously though, I'm sorry.

I ve been involved in epay bidding war once a few years ago. Payed double price of that i really wonted for my max, and the goods valued anyway. From that moment ive never buy nothing without BIN. Never. Just passed so many good looking boxes. And the funny thing - they usually pop up later for the half and less of the price in some local add. Dont know. If its something with personal grail status and real will ill fight to the very end anyway. F..k the money. We can work and make em. Sometimes we should spend more  . And whats the real value of something that we really want.... our bank account is the only limit  . At the end im not valuing my boxes with money, just with my love to any one of them (have not so many so far :-P ) , some more loved some not so..... Its same with buying. Look it that way - the most expensive box is not more than one average monthly salary. Noting so bad. And some times we are spending more money for some crazy clubbin weekend than the money of one nice box. So i can get wasted at home and buy a good box for the rest of the money  .
So my answer here is - yea ill bid more  .

I usually call up Miss Cleo and find out the ending price before it ends. If I can afford it - BAMM! - it's mine. ;-) :-D

Other times, I just "let go" and use the Force.

If you hesitate at the Buy it Now price, then it's not the right price. I found a "buy it now" box that was on my bucket list. I couldn't press the buy it now button fast enough. When I got the box I was so thrilled with it I was on cloud nine for 2 days. On the flip side, last night I found a grail newly listed and after a couple of back and forth emails I convinced the buyer to change the listing to Buy it Now. I ended up going out of my comfort zone to close the deal. In the long run I'm probably going to be thrilled with it but until it's in my hands safe and sound, I'm going to have a few second thoughts.

my thought is YES --if you want it --and dont want to wait a year or so for the next one ...
which may be 20-50% MORE $$-
than you cant punish yourself for not jumping the BIN -
by not having it at all :nonono:
that would be like a double loss :-O

its a ' bite the bullet ' and WIN it anyway :-)
-----------------

we are talking about a box that we could have bought for less -- 7 days ago

well -- what about 27 years ago ???
lots of us were around --when we coulda//shouda bought a pile of NIB // BIN
M90s for about 500 each-
tonight - in this market if there was a never opened NIB m90 --
we might be very happy to pay a bit over 500 for it  ;-)

i rest my case :-) :breakdance:

In other words 350.00 is a good deal for a Big Ben these days!
I'm kicking myself for not buying one for 330.00 last year!!
Darn!
Looks like we have to be very careful in our boombox aquisitions & bidding!
I want a nice M-90 still and I know 1,000 is a minimum now! :-O

We're still learning on boombox buying,e-bay is crazy lately!
