This is the new TDK that replaces the old "2 Speaker TDK", but with a twist that I DIDN'T SEE BEFORE!

The original 2 speaker had 2 speakers and 2 tweeters. Did anyone notice that the TDK A73 has 3 FREAKING SPEAKERS and 2 passive radiator tweets?!?!?!?!

There is a subwoofer in the TDK A73 that is shooting out the back! How big is this boombox compared to the old 2 speaker? Or is it more of a 3 speaker TDK size? Oh and look, you can access the chassis screws from the BACK instead of from the front hidden behind plexiglass!

Has remote, subwoofer, blu-tooth, and rechargable batteries. Finally everything that they should have come with. No strap, no ipod dock or any dock. I'm pretty sure it still has the clunky external power supply  and possibly the external antennas that are seperate pieces  .

Now I gotta buy this one too :w00t: .

It says its still an iPod dock. It has charging capabilities/direct hook ups on the back. The front woofers are only radiators. I like the look of this one too but I'd have to hear it before I buy so I don't get in trouble with the Mrs!!

I think they worded this section wrong:
Twin 13cm passive radiators and 5cm full-range drivers are arranged at the front to emulate the classic boombox look, and there’s a 13cm subwoofer housed at the back.
It should say twin 5cm passive radiators and 13cm full-range drivers w/ 13cm subwoofer :hmmm:

When I was refering to "dock", I was talking about a spot to mount a MP3 player, not just plug it in

I need to hear one of these.

It needs to be the OG dimentions WITH the 3 woofers in front ,AND the rear one to be all that (IMO).

the A73 is a different level of boom box, aimed at consumers who require portability, remote control, and BT.

it is far far lighter than than the 2 speaker, and also far less well-constructed. the sound is really good, although the older 2 speaker is louder. the A73 feels a bit "cheap" in comparison to the older, bigger brother.

it is not sexy or cool like the older 2 speaker...but those who want a good sounding, light box, it is well worth considering.

I bought one off a local Craigslist ad for $100. It was practically NIB. The seller, a 60y.o. farmer, got it as a gift. He listened to it for about 5mins then, decided He could use the money for "farm tools" instead. It's small but has very good bass and I love the rechargeable batteries & BT tech. I find Myself listening to it a lot in the living room with the remote control  That rear firing subwoofer really helps out a lot. I pushed it all the way with one of those car subwoofer test songs via My iPod and was very impressed that it handled it way better that most any other radios. Very balanced sound.

Sounds like it wouldn't be a bad purchase if that's your style... :hmmm: :-)

So tell us about those tiny little "passive radiators". Are they:
1) real passives?
2) open bass ports?
3) or just fake decorations?

 2.1 Stereo Configuration: Two 2'' full range drivers, two 5.25'' passive radiators, and one 5.25'' subwoofer

In speaker design theory a passive should be larger than the dynamic driver
