Neigbourhood church was holding its annual rummage sale. In the room of electronic tat was, amongst other things, a Panasonic VHS camcorder that could eject tapes but wouldn't otherwise turn on. Wanted that but since it wasn't working I passed in favour of this wee beastie
All it needed was a wipe down - belts were fine and even had a fresh set of batteries in its belly. There was a cassette of Herb Alpert's greatest hits in the well. Also picked up this Sanyo 'walkman'...
It had batteries but... yeah, no...
Still, it cleaned up OK and even though one batttery was stuck to the spring, there was still enough conduction to power it on a fresh set of AAs.
All this for $3 and some loose change - it was 'free will' pricing sale
