LEDs in goldstar 801 VU

Anybody know how to add LEDs to a Goldstar TSR-801? Any help would be appreciated.

If its the one with the twin needle vu meters there looks like there's enough of a flat spot on the top of the vu meter panel to drill some small holes to insert the LEDs.
