Led mod on my 935

part of what I love about this box is that its a party work horse. People love the lights and love the thump. I have wanted to put some lights where the "midrange horns" were right after I opened it up and saw that there was nothing there. I was in the auto parts store and saw these 8" led strips that operate on 12v...that's all she wrote. I got three sets and wanted to install them in a way that could easily be removed and cause no noticeable changes to the box. I didn't want to know they're there when they weren't on...I think I got it done. I ordered the led organ kit and I am gonna install that when it comes, but for now I am just enjoying them lighting up the room(they are f'n bright). I installed a simple toggle switch to turn the light rig on/off. It was pretty easy.

It is barely noticeable when they are off(you can see the strip in the horn)

Yeah...they are nuts...They seem bright during the day...but in the dark...crazy. My buddy's daughter(the one taking pics of the 935 in my other post) saw this and is begging me to find her "big 80's blaster that will make my ears bleed" and hook up the lights to "make it look like some pissed off robot cranked up at a disco"...she is wise beyond her 17 years. Anyway...yeah these are RRRRREEEEEAAAALLLLLLLYYYYYY bright.

It's purple actually(camera looks weird.. it's a combo of the red(Tweeter lights) and Blue(woofer). I've since wired in a 12' strip into the handle and put strobes in the tape deck. I will post pics and when I finish the organ mod and I get the lights dancing, I will post a vid

Ha its funny I been into Modding my car with lights, I also put leds in my car and strobes into my brake lights, and even had Christmas tree lights inside the glass at one point, but never thought of this for boom box until recently seeing the discolight and that sharp in this post:
