If you're looking for a strip to go on the spare tape drawer the best stuff I found was the stuff they use to engrave on that goes on trophies and other signs.
It's essentially a black strip (exactly the right width!) with a veneer of brushed aluminium. Cheap, and easy to apply with som glue. I got mine from a shop that
sells plastics for signs and such, anywhere that makes trade signs for shops and businesses should get you on the right track.
