Another boombox story, written by true life.
Happened 3 hours ago:
I was driving with my car and trailer through an very small gate at the north end of vienna.
Was visiting an friend.
In the middle of the gate suddenly an problem:
The dump truck was coming from the other side.
It´s an very long gate, but no place to change.
The truck can´t go back.
Driving back with the trailer is also impossible.
Then one guy came out of the house next to me and told me i should drive inside his garden to let the truck pass.
I did so. Must du it very careful to don´t crash with the litter boxes.
Boxes?!?
Woha, what´s that in the grass next to the trash?
He noticed my looking at this poor box and said: I have just thrown it out. Bought an new radio for the garage.
I: can i take it?
He: for sure, because the "wasteboys" maybe make troubles (it´s not allowed to throw electronic trash in the normal waste).
I took it
He: do you want also an charger for car batteries?
I also took it.
And found in the grass the glass of the scale (fallen out).
The box has no real damage and the aerial is also ok.
And so this is the SUPERSONIC 122GT:
Saved in the last minute.
Because the dump truck took the waste 2 minutes later away.
And i´m sure they would also throw the box in the dumper (not allowed, but who cares...)
At home plugging in, nothing.
Giving a littlebit contact spray at the switches > plays!
I think many boxes die this way.
Only a little failure, but nobody try an repair at such an old radio.
Tape is also working.
The ACDC tape inside is damaged, too sad.
Would be good songs at it.
But the box survived in the last minute.
But it will need some work to get pretty at it was.
Not an real keeper box, but i like it.
And at the battery loader was only the fuse shot....
