My Lasonic TRC-975 for a complete rebuild. First I need a new power supply unit because it is unfortunately missing.
Is there a power supply that is easy to get and that is compatible with this device?

I am looking for these parts:
  • Radio board
  • Power supply (original or compatible)
  • Battery compartment cover
  • Knobs for the equalizer, speed, beat/Mode and CD
  • Service manual
I hope someone can help with parts and tips.

I need urgent help.
I unscrewed the 975 today. Since I saw that these two black cables are not connected (see picture 1 and 2). Do the two cables have to be connected or do they go somewhere else? What are these cables for? Can the device be switched on without the cables being connected when I have installed the transformer?
On picture 3 you can see a black cable going away from the transformer board. Where is the plug where it has to be inserted?
I would at least like to operate the device with the line in.

I found a transformer.
Now I have more questions about connecting the 975 up.
On the first picture you can see the transformer board. Are the points that I have marked with the arrow correct?
The blue top wire goes to the top of the PC board (markt with 1)?

I don't have a 240 / 120v switch in this device.
The transformer has 3 cables (black, brown, red). Does the black cable have to go to the black connection cable (the one with the silver wire) and which cable from the transformer is for 240v (red or brown)?

Those ribbon cables don't go to the transformer. I don't know why they're loose. Someone obviously broke them.

The ribbon cable is simply pulled out of a socket. It`s a white bar with the same number of connection points. Examing the extent of the length of the cable, moving it around can land you in it`s rightful place. Judging by the number of pulled cables the seller may have been disgruntled to some degree.

First photo to the left, is a ribbon cable. It looks like it would press in onto a socket, or examine the length of where it reaches and resolder when you find the connection points?

I may be able to help you with some of these. I picked up a 975 in a pretty terrible shape a few weeks ago for a project. Basically I am making something similar to Touch of Bass product, but with a real boombox.

It's in a pretty sorry shape inside and out, plus I was planning on completely gutting it, installing 8" speakers, twitters and a bluetooth amp. Now that I think about it, I may get an EQ board and a pre-amp as well.... and today I got even dumber idea. Shove a motherboard into this thing and make it a functional computer as well... maybe... maybe not.

Anyway, I am not sure what any of the parts are worth and there are marks of a few "repairs" if you could call them that, but i will help out with whatever I can.

Oh, and can someone tell me what the UV meter wired to? It's 3pins labelled "S B+G". G is obvious, but what is S and B? I really want to retain this thing and keep it functioning.

B+ is the positive polarity from the power.
G , is the ground wire.
S, it's for the audio signal input that drives the Vu meter.
