Hello! I’ve got a TRC-931 in reasonable shape. When I got it the cassette buttons were attached, but at some point transporting it I must have done something to pop the buttons off. I thought they would easily snap back in, but there’s nothing for
the buttons to attach to.

How do the chrome buttons attach to the levers inside the deck? It looks like some tabs might have broken off the top and bottom, but I found no plastic shrapnel. I’m reluctant to investigate by removing the remaining buttons in case I break something else!

I’m grateful for any advice on how to get those buttons back in place. Thank you!

If it's like mine... a really small tab that clips them on are broken/worn off.

Finding buttons are hard, so I hot glue mine on. They stay on pretty good but if your too aggressive and knock one off again, the hot glue is easy to remove and replace.

the tabs that are broken actually are what snap and lock and hold the buttons on really what you just need to do is put some rubber cement on the backing and then just stick them on there and they're reasonably easy to remove if you ever have to take them off if you use the rubber cement.
