i know that the function switch on the 931 is a common failure. has anyone looked at the feasibility of using rapid prototyping, or low volume injection molding to create replacements?

in most cases it's the small geared cog that breaks, not the actual long plastic tooth strip that hits the contacts, correct?

there's also the techshop (http://www.techshop.ws) i've thought about joining up as they have a bunch of plastic molding and 3d printer machines to use. basically a gym membership for nerds.

any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

My Funtion selector switch's potentiometer plastic extension shaft, broke. If we're talking about the same piece, I do have to make a replacement part. I am contemplating what to use and how to go about it. I'll probably use something I have laying around to make a one-off replacement. I've heard some have used wooden dowels? I'm partial to a plastic solution.
