Although not an oldschool beatbox, the lasonic i931 was designed to look like from the 80's. I was looking into lasonic but dont know much about boomboxs and was wondering the quality of this one. Also is there a difference between the i931 and the i931x

The i931 takes older ipods, the x takes newer models such as iphone and itouch.

Hi Browner..

Its all about what you like...

Old Style super cool boxes are big fun, big cost and possibly big running costs (if you are not ready to dig in and get dirty).

If you need iPod playback then the Lasonic is great but I think the fake dials and decals are a bit cheap (but over in the states they are LOTS less money than over here, so you might be getting what you are paying for).

The new TDK is wonderful, but EXPENSIVE, and the Altec Lansing is brilliant (bit not really old school), and JVC NB70 (Kaboom) is great.

It it were me I would get the Lansing (if iPod really matters) as it kicks ass for sound.
