So, I've had my i931 for about a week now. I can't say I wasn't warned. But that's another story. :-/

My question is, I fell prey to the battery issue (lost a fresh set of Ds because I left my iPod in the dock). There is a switch that takes the box from AC to DC on the back. Wondering if switching back to AC when the box is not in use would prevent the batteries from draining, or do I have to remove the iPod every time I turn the thing off?

Some of you might recall from my last post that I had to rig my loose fitting 80 gb iPod Classic in the doc because the adapter wouldn't fit, so it's kind of a pain to take the thing in and out every time I turn it off! Let me know if anyone has any workarounds...

even thou i dont have the i931 but i still belive the the older lasonics have that switch and if you put it in ac box will not work so i have a reason to belive that it will not drain the batteries even with the ipod plugged in at least it should not,,, that is what the switch is for...  :-)

but remember that when you plug the ipod in the dock it uses power either from batteries or ac to charge the ipod if you just connect it from you headphone/lineout jack then it has to use the internal bateries.. so if only the radio i would belive as long as the ipod is not docked should use a bit less power.... :-)

If the iPod doesn't kill your batteries, the clock will. ;-)

Lasonic needs to add a "no charge" switch or button for the iPod and a dedicated battery for the clock.

Well, I got another set ot 10 Ds today, and flipping that switch from DC back to AC when not in use seems to completly shut it down (the iPod goes black, the clock display shuts off, etc.) so I think this will work. I'll know for sure tomorrow morning!

Well, four days in, the the AC-DC switch definitely seems to be the solution. I don't mind the the clock loses power as long as the batteries stay fresh and usable!
