Okay, so I tried searching, and find a lot of tips on cleaning/polishing the clear portions of plastic, but I'm curious about the black casings... On the Lasonic, does anyone know if the black on there is painted, I assume its just the color of the plastic, in which case, do any of you know if that is able to be polished, waxed, sanded, or what? One of my boxes the previouse owner scratched up a couple spots trying to take stickers off it looks like, some nice lines in a couple places.

you can wax/ buff the black but you have to be careful to not over buff it if using an electric buffer/tool. you can also paint the scratched sections with black spray paint after sanding the scratches out . i buffed my 931 it shined way more than the stock look.

Thanks!!! Took me a couple years to get it like that. I need to fix the brakes on it, otherwise I try to drive it as much as I can.

So do the 931s have a layer of paint on it then? I was hoping that was raw plastic

No it's black plastic but what Floyd means probably is it can scratch or wear and look discolored in spots ;-)

exactly! if you buff too hard it will discolor the plastic .

Okay I gotcha, cool, well maybe I'll test out the inside of the battery cover... see what I can get away with first, then move to the actual box. Cool Thanks guys!!!

I have had success with a headlight cleaning kit from 3M. It has super fine pads and compounds that work great.

But like Floyd and Bill said, go easy, if you burn the plastic with a power tool, thats it.

Okay, that doesn't sound to hard then, I mean, I work on cars, kind of the same thing with polishing paint it seems, go too fast too hard, burn paint... nice and steady keep moving to different areas, shouldn't be a problem right?
